A Game of Thrones

A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin MIND=BLOWN

I love this series to pieces.

The characters are what drew me in immediately. I've never read better battle scenes. That element alone earns a full star in my book.

Any book that features canines gets my vote.

I felt the character development was excellent. They are 3-dimensional, jumping out of the pages. And the way George R.R. Martin writes, you feel like you’re within the Seven Kingdoms. The characters - You’ll love some of them, hate many. By the end, you’ll have your favorites. Who are my faves, you might be asking, or not? I love Arya. For a little eight-year-old she is strong and brave and fierce. I despise Catelyn (for how she treats Jon - jealous bitch much?) and Cersei for reasons I won’t want to go into. Aside from Arya, my other favorites are Jon and Dani and Tyrion and of course, last but not least, the Direwolves themselves. Oh, and I forgot to mention Bran. I believe I named just about every character.

With all that said, I devoured Game of Thrones.
